CBeebies’ Rhyme Rocket fun at Northampton's Kings Heath Primary Academy

The primary school welcomed BBC stars as pupils explored their rhyming skills.

Pupils at Northampton’s Kings Heath Primary Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, were dazzled when a pair of children’s television favourites landed at their school.

Joe Chambers and Andy Crawford, who present the CBeebies television programme Rhyme Rockets, used rhyme, poetry and song to show the children how English can be entertaining.

Pupils in Nursery, Reception, Years 1 and 2 enjoyed an exciting performance from the famous pair, where they shared their rhyming antics and encouraged children to explore their literacy skills.

Clair Mills, Deputy Principal at Kings Heath Primary Academy, said: “The children were so excited before the show and the Rhyme Rockets team did not disappoint!

“Pupils were fascinated throughout the entire performance are now able to rhyme words, build their own rhymes and even create a rhyming song.

“I am sure they will never forget this fantastic experience and it’s just one of the many great ways we work to inspire our children to learn.”

As part of the David Ross Education Trust, Kings Heath Primary Academy is committed to providing students with a world-class education. An education within a rich and exciting learning environment that inspires pupils to become their confident, academic best.
