We work with local community leaders to positively promote the area and develop the resources available for residents.
At Kings Heath Primary Academy, we are proud of our multi-ethnic community and the ways we positively promote community and global cohesion.
As part of the world community, KHPA instils in its learners an understanding and concern for the global environment and the part individuals have to play in making the world a better place for everyone. Pupils are encouraged to see life beyond their immediate environment. Using 21st century technology, pupils can interact with others and engage in projects and learning opportunities based in other parts of the world.
All Seasons Family Community Room
Since the re-launch of the community family room in September, the Pastoral team have been exceptionally busy hosting coffee mornings and workshops for many parents of children here at Kings Heath Primary Academy.
We host a drop-in session for parent committee on Monday mornings from 8.45 until 10am. This is a good opportunity to meet the Pastoral team and other parents.
Tuesdays and Fridays are focussed on parent courses, for example 1, 2, 3 Magic. On Wednesdays we hold adult learning, with Northampton College staff coming in to deliver these courses. Thursdays are set aside for Zumba classes for parents and carers to get involved and have a bit of fun whilst keeping fit.
A Parent Community Council was established early in the academic year and this group of parents have been active in planning and supporting many events. For example, the Macmillan Coffee morning raised over £150, the hamper raffle and cake sale bought in over £150 and the Christmas fayre combined with the film night raised a whopping £800.
Please see the timetable (document on the left) for the remainder of this term and feel free to drop–in on any session.
